On 14th August 2025, YASIF joined the global celebration of International Youth Day by hosting a webinar with the theme “Local Youth Action for SDGs and Beyond.” The event, which held at 12:00 PM (WAT) on Google Meet, brought together young people who are shaping solutions in their communities and beyond.

The panel featured Moyinoluwa Diugdem (President, Rotaract Club FULAFIA), Hannah O. Abedoh (Founder, Shepherdess Global Empowerment Initiative), Jibril U. Ahmad (Young Advocate and Founder, JUA-SADO FARMS), Abimbola Abikoye (Founder, Rave Network), and Jane Njugunah (Global SDG Influencer). The session was moderated by Esther Daniels, who guided the conversation with clarity and focus.

Speakers shared their journeys, the impact of their work, and the lessons they have drawn from leading projects that connect directly to the Sustainable Development Goals. They spoke about challenges young people face, the creativity that drives youth-led change, and the importance of building networks that strengthen impact at every level.

Participants also contributed actively through questions and reflections, showing that the conversation on youth action is both timely and necessary. The session highlighted how ideas born in local contexts can grow into solutions that contribute to global progress.

For us at YASIF, this event was an expression of our commitment to creating spaces where young people can share, learn, and be inspired to act. We see our role in linking local voices to global conversations, ensuring that young people are not only part of the future but active shapers of the present.
